Andrea Ancer Leal, DNP, PMHNP-BC, LMSW, is a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner and licensed clinical social worker serving adults and professionals across Texas and Washington, including the greater Seattle area. With over a decade of experience in mental health care, Dr. Ancer Leal delivers compassionate, personalized treatment for conditions such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, PTSD, personality disorders, sleep issues, disordered eating, and chronic stress.
She currently serves as a Clinical Preceptor for the Yale School of Nursing, where she mentors psychiatric nurse practitioner students in advanced clinical practice — reflecting her deep commitment to education, leadership, and clinical excellence.

Dr. Ancer Leal earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from the Cizik School of Nursing at UTHealth Houston, where she specialized in Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) training and graduated with board certification. She also holds a Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Houston, and is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) with extensive experience in both therapy and medical psychiatric care.
Before becoming a nurse practitioner, Dr. Leal worked as a professional therapist providing individual and group therapy for adolescents and adults in a variety of clinical settings. Her therapeutic expertise includes cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), mindfulness-based strategies, and solution-focused techniques.
